UCI now seeks to ban WADA
(Velo): Cycling's world governing body the UCI on Tuesday said it wanted nothing more to do with the World Anti-Doping Agency following the leaking of its report into this summer's Tour de France. The UCI took its decision to ban WADA inspectors from future cycling events after the drug agency's verdict on the 2003 Tour appeared prematurely in the French sports daily L'Equipe on Monday. In a statement the UCI said that "its confidence in the system put in place by WADA had been seriously damaged," adding that "no observer from this organization will be recognized at upcoming cycling events.
