WADA Removes Cameroon from Anti-Doping Non-Compliance List

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has removed Cameroon's national anti-doping organization from its list of non-compliant signatories, effective immediately, following successful completion of required reforms.

The Organisation Camerounaise de Lutte contre le Dopage dans le Sport (Cameroon NADO) was reinstated after demonstrating it had addressed all outstanding non-conformities in its anti-doping program, WADA announced Sunday following a circulatory vote of its Executive Committee.

The reinstatement comes exactly one year after Cameroon NADO was declared non-compliant on August 5, 2024, for failing to address deficiencies identified through WADA's Code Compliance Questionnaire exercise.

WADA had originally issued a formal notice of non-compliance to Cameroon NADO on July 12, 2024. The non-compliance status became effective on August 5, 2024, after the organization chose not to challenge the allegation within the 21-day window provided under the International Standard for Code Compliance by Signatories.

The turnaround began on July 22, 2025, when Cameroon NADO provided relevant information and documentation demonstrating that all required corrections had been completed. WADA's Compliance Review Committee reviewed the submission and agreed with WADA Management on July 27, 2025, that Cameroon NADO had successfully fulfilled all conditions for reinstatement.

Following the Committee's recommendation, WADA's Executive Committee endorsed the decision to reinstate Cameroon NADO and remove it from the non-compliant list, in accordance with Article 11.3.3 of the compliance standards.

The reinstatement removes all sanctions that had been imposed on Cameroon, including restrictions on hosting international events, receiving WADA funding, and participating in WADA programs.

With Cameroon's removal, there are now three remaining non-compliant Code Signatories: the Russian Anti-Doping Agency, the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation, and the International Federation of Basque Pelota.
