Russian Bobsleigh athlete tests positive at the Olympic Winter Games


According to the Russian Bobsled Federation the bobsleigh athlete Nadezhda Sergeeva has tested positive for Trimetazidine.

 

According to The Associated Press the sample sample given by Nadezhda Sergeeva on Sunday was positive.

In the Anti-Doping Database we have registered 12 cases involving Trimetazidine. First case we registered is from 2013. It was the only incident involving this substance that year. In 2014 the number of positives for this substance went up to eight.

Russia is the country with the most cases (5) followed by Estonia and China both two cases.

Track and field is the sport with the most cases (4) followed by swimming (2).

Three athletes has been handed a four year suspension. The rest have received up to two years.
