RUSADA suspends five race walkers


Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) has suspended five race walkers for violation article 2.2 in the WADA code - Use of prohibited substance and (or) a prohibited method.

 

The doping rules violations have been established on the basis of abnormal parameters of the Athletes’ hematological profiles in the framework of the Biological Passport Program of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). The athletes who has been suspended are: Olga Kaniskina - for three years and two months from 15.10.2012, with the disqualification of the results for the periods: July 15, 2009 - September 16, 2009; July 30, 2011 – November 8, 2011. Sergey Kirdyapkin - for three years and two months from 15.10.2012, with the disqualification of the results for the periods: July 20, 2009 - September 20, 2009; June 29, 2010 - August 29, 2010; December 17, 2011 - June 11, 2012. Sergey Bakulin - for three years and two months from 24.12.2012 with the disqualification of the results for the periods: January 25, 2011 - March 25, 2011; June 16, 2011 - August 16, 2011; April 11, 2012 - June 11, 2012. Valery Borchin - eight years from 15.10.2012, with the disqualification of the results for the periods: July 14, 2009 - September 15, 2009; June 16, 2011 - September 27, 2011; April 11, 2012 - September 3, 2012. Vladimir Kanaikin – life banned from 17.12.2012 with the disqualification of the results for the periods: January 25, 2011 - March 25, 2011; June 16, 2011 - September 27, 2011.
