Since the end of 2012 are in German WADA-accredited laboratories , the Institute of Biochemistry, German Sport University Cologne and the Institute of Doping Analysis and Sports Biochemistry Kreischa, refined detection methods for two anabolic steroids as a class S1. the currently valid WADA prohibited list. In the anabolic steroids are Chlorodehydromethyltestosterone (also known under the trade name Oral-Turinabol) and stanozolol. The National Anti-Doping Agency Germany (NADA) has responded immediately and at the end of 2012 samples with the refined methods of analysis in the two German laboratories in order. Both substances are now much longer detectable by the refinement of the analysis. The German laboratories discovered by these methods several positive samples of foreign athletes who had not been previously found . All samples German athletes appointed by the NADA were negative. NADA also plans in selected sports disciplines and long-term stored specimens to re- analyze. The investigation of new and optimization of existing detection methods contributes to the ongoing development of the doping control system. Thanks to the close cooperation with the two German laboratories, NADA has the opportunity to benefit from new early detection methods.
