Mr. Tikhomirov, a 29-year-old player from United States, was notified of his selection to provide a urine sample on 28 January 2020, in association with his participation in the M15 Cancun held in Cancun, Mexico from 27 January to 2 February 2020. However, Mr. Tikhomirov allegedly (a) failed to acknowledge that notification by failing to sign the notification form, and (b) failed to provide a sample following that notification. Evading sample collection, or (without compelling justification) refusing or failing to submit to sample collection after notification, constitutes an Anti-Doping Rule Violation under Article 2.3 of the Programme.
On 5 May 2020, Mr. Tikhomirov was charged with an Anti-Doping Rule Violation, and accepted a voluntary Provisionally Suspension with effect from 20 May 2020. By accepting a voluntary provisional suspension, Mr. Tikhomirov will be eligible for credit against any period of Ineligibility subsequently imposed on him, providing that he respects the provisional suspension in full.
