Danish cyclist cleared

The danish cyclist Philop Nielsen is cleared by the Danish Sports Federation (DIF) after testing positive for Clenbuterol.

The rider provided the sample that contained the prohibited substance on April 25, 2010 during the Vuelta Mexico. TheDIF had a hearing in the case on January 12, 2011, and on March 21, 2011 they came with the decision. Nielsen claimed that the prohibited substance must have been in meat he ate at the cyclist hotel in Mexico. The Danish cyclist was tested again on May 8, 2010 and this sample did not contain any prohibited substances. The Italian cyclist Alessandro Colo stayed at the same hotel and has also tested positive for the same substance. (Source: DIF)
