Athletes currently being investigated for doping after re-testing


The list below includes names of athletes that is currently being investigated after re-testing of their samples has returned adverse findings.

 

2005 Helsinki IAAF World Championships Andrei Mikhnevich, Belarus Ivan Tsikhan, Belarus Vadim Devyatovskiy, Belarus Tatyana Kotova, Russia Nazdeya Ostapchuk, Belarus Olga Kuzenkova, Russia 2004 Athens Olympic Games Yuriy Bilonog (oxandrolone, 1st, men’s shot put; Ukraine) Svetlana Krivelyova (oxandrolone, 3rd, women’s shot put; Russia) Ivan Tsikhan (methandienone, 2nd, men’s hammer throw; Belarus) Iryna Yatchenko (methandienone, 3rd, women’s discus throw; Belarus). Tsikhan and Devyatovskiy also tested positive for testosterone (t/e-ratio) during the Olympic Games in Beijing. They appealed the decision and won against IOC and had their medals and diplomas returned. Devyatovskiy was suspended for two years after testing positive for Nandrolone at the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. If Tsikhan and Devyatovskiy are to be suspended for the findings in 2005, they are most likely to return the medals from 2008 again. Sources: IOC, IAAF and The Anti-Doping Database
