The IWF reports that sample A of Mr. Filev Ivaylo, Mr. Nazif Ferdi, Ms. Maneva Milka, Mr. Urumov Vladimir, Mr. Muradov Asen, Mr. Markov Ivan, Mr. Enev Stoyan, Mr. Minchev Dian, Mr. Demirev Demir, Ms. Nguen Nadezhda – Mey, Ms. Ivanova Maya BUL has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding for stanozolol. As a consequence, the athletes are provisionally suspended in view of a potential anti-doping rule violation. In any case where it is determined – after a B sample analysis, a hearing or an appeal – that the athlete did not commit an anti-doping rule violation, the relevant decision will also be published. In the Anti-Doping Database we have registered 152 cases in Weightlifting where the athlete has tested positive for Stanozolol. 118 of these athletes were men, while 34 were women. 30 Bulgarian weightlifters has been sanctioned for using doping in the past. 13 of the cases involved Methandienone. In total we have registered 889 cases in weightlifting. Stanozolol is the most commonly used substance and was used in 158 of the cases. In total India has the most cases with 112 cases. Russia has the second most cases with 57 cases. Sweden, with the third most cases, has 40. 152 of the samples were collected out-of-competition. 639 of the sanctioned athletes was suspended for two years. 34 received a lifetime suspension.
