Oxilofrine (also known as Methylsynephrine, Hydroxyephrine, Oxyephrine, and 4-HMP) is a stimulant drug related chemically to ephedrine and to synephrine. Classical pharmacological studies on animals and isolated animal tissues showed that the principal actions of parenterally-administered synephrine included raising blood-pressure, dilating the pupil, and constricting peripheral blood vessels.
